ECC pilots advisory AI tool to enhance job evaluation
ECC is breaking new ground with the trial of an AI tool designed to enhance its trusted job evaluation frameworks, HERA and FEDRA, while keeping human judgement and accountability at the core.
Embedded in ECC’s digital job evaluation platform ECC Online, HERA-AI and FEDRA-AI review job descriptions and other evidence, generate suggested scores and provide written rationales, but only after a trained human role analyst has completed their assessment. Final accountability remains firmly with the analyst.
“Job evaluation underpins fair pay and organisational trust,” said Nicholas Johnston, ECC’s Chief Executive. “Our bespoke AI tools are designed to support, not replace, professional judgement. They reinforce consistency, transparency and evidence-based evaluation, alongside the expertise of human analysts.”
With AI rapidly transforming HR, ECC’s human-first approach ensures AI remains strictly advisory, providing insight without replacing human decision-making.
“HERA-AI and FEDRA-AI reflect our commitment to responsible AI use in job evaluation. We are now excited to pilot this technology and gather feedback from users ahead of rolling it out further across our membership over the coming months,” Johnston added.
