Cal began her communications career in London working in insurance journalism and as a contract publishing editor for various clients, including central government departments.

Following a career break to raise her family, Cal re-entered the comms field in local government, and more recently she worked as Projects & Communications Officer for a £2m Lottery-funded project, designed to raise awareness of climate change issues in north Cornwall. Cal is experienced in strategic planning, alongside the digital and print delivery of internal and external communications.

Cal joined ECC in August 2025. She spends much of her spare time walking her dog along the north Cornish coast. She recently took part in her first (and probably last) 5km Park Run. While Cal loves living in Cornwall, she also enjoys escaping from the county to see city-based friends and family.
