By using HERA to evaluate roles, student unions can stay aligned to the approach taken in the majority of universities in the UK, whether they chose to align to the pay structure used by their university or decide to develop their own.
The HERA job evaluation tool was designed with the education sector in mind, and so it includes unique aspects of work that are important to student unions such as pastoral care.
Universities aren’t authorised to share HERA with their student union, due to it being a separate organisation, and so you’ll need to work directly with ECC if you want to use HERA within your organisation. We can do that through a membership or a consultancy approach.
