Consultancy and in-house training support

We build effective relationships with members, providing you with a long-term, consistent and integrated service. That’s why every ECC member is assigned a consultant who works with you and makes sure you get the most out of your membership. Find your consultants details.

ECC Consultants are senior professionals and bring a wealth of knowledge and skills covering a wide spectrum of HR and people management issues, built up through hands-on experience in the public and private sectors, including HE.

Areas of expertise include the use of role design and analysis to develop approaches to deliver recruitment, reward management, workforce planning, career development and related activities to underpin best practice in people management.

Your consultant will provide:

  • Ongoing informal advice, information and practice support throughout the year
  • An additional one day of specialist consultancy or training per annum at no charge
  • Focused support that meets your specific needs in terms of objectives, timescales and resources
  • Clearly defined and costed proposals and project plans, so you know exactly what to expect
  • Project monitoring and reporting so that you are informed of progress and any issues arising
  • Very competitively priced day rates in keeping with consortium aims – the first day’s support is provided at no charge every year

Requests for consultancy support can be made by e-mail to contactus@ecc.ac.uk or directly to one of our team.

Consultancy support

Many members choose to use their one day of support from our consultants per annum at no charge to help in using HERA and FEDRA. This can be used flexibly, for example in two half-days to:

  • ensure new colleagues are introduced to the scheme and system
  • update and refresh colleagues on good practice to optimise the system
  • use HERA or FEDRA to streamline recruitment, reward management, workforce planning, career development and related activities to underpin best practice in people management

Other members use the day to meet a variety of HR needs, so the day could be used flexibly to complete a single piece of work, implement a series of supportive actions that add up to one day, or take the day as part of a larger consultancy project.

In-house training

Our training is designed to meet learning objectives agreed with you by our team of knowledgeable and experienced consultants.

Tailored in-house training may be a one-off event on a single day, or a series of related events.  Topics covered typically include the use of role design and analysis to develop approaches to deliver recruitment, reward management, workforce planning and career development.

Requests for in-house training can be made via e-mail to contactus@ecc.ac.uk or directly to one of our team.
